Tap water or well water is often burdened with chlorine or heavy metals such as copper, lead or zinc. Thus what is assumed to be fresh water is often too aggressive for fish and other pond inhabitants. Safe&Care treats the water appropriate to the fish and biotope, and therefore should be added each time the pond is refilled and each time significant proportions of the pond water is replaced.
